One of my favorite things to do is listen to podcasts. I love learning about other people’s stories. I love hearing how people I admire faced and overcame their own personal fears and doubts. Podcasts introduce me to new people, new places, and new ideas.
About two years ago I stopped listening to radio while driving. Instead, I listen to podcasts. I also walk around the park behind my office during my lunch break to get some fresh air. On my walk, I enjoy the sunshine while learning new things from whatever podcast I’m listening to that day.
A few of the podcasts I listen to on a regular basis include The Tim Ferriss Show, Startups for the Rest of Us, and Apply Filters.
A couple weeks ago a good friend of mine from college, Mike Groesser, interviewed me for his new podcast. The Upload Podcast is for creative entrepreneurs and side hustlers. His goal is that his podcast inspires you to share your gifts with the world. After the many hundreds of hours of podcasts that I have listened to, it was both strange and exciting being on the other side of the mic.

During the interview Mike asked me about running a business, how I find work/life balance, and how I carved out a niche to establish myself as an expert. I had a lot of fun answering his questions. Mike kept the conversation moving and wasn’t afraid to dig deep into a few areas to uncover the hidden gems that others might find helpful.
I would recommend checking out his podcast if you are interested moving from dreaming to doing. I would also recommend finding other podcasts that you enjoy. Podcasts make it easy to invest in yourself no matter your interest.
Turn off the radio on the way to work, go for a walk during your lunch break, or wear earbuds at the gym. Listening to engaging and thought-provoking podcasts is a small habit that can improve your business and enrich your life.
